I buried fruits, vegetables, and other items from Chongming Island, such as pumpkins, eggplants, persimmons, oranges, and seashells, in the ground at nightfall. I secured one end of a thick string to them, leaving the other end at the surface. At the next early morning, I tied all the strings left on the surface to myself. Then I started running in the opposite direction extremely hard, which aimed to pull these buried items out of the ground.
